Exchange Place Trailhead

The Greenbelt ends at the Exchange Place, a preserved, early 19th-century farm complex built by the John Gaines family around 1820 and owned by the Preston family after 1847.

The Exchange Place located where the Great Stage Road crossed Eaton’s Ridge (now Chestnut Ridge), served as a stop over from providing fresh horses and exchange of currency.
